We are back from Fulle-Pallousa and we've got some actual news to talk about.

We're going to talk about the latest from Zillow and Groupon.

Yes, we will talk about the dumpster fire that is Groupon.

Let's start though with an actual business and that's CBS.

Third quarter profit came in higher than expected. The stock basically flat up slightly.

Bill this is one of those quarters that just sort of remind me like, oh right, this is a really

big company with a lot of moving parts.

And so even though some of the parts are doing really well, you know, anytime

you're a diverse business, sometimes that means that your results are going to be weighed

down by the less awesome divisions?

Yeah, I mean, it's been a good business for shareholders for a while. It's in the middle of a kind of mediocre year, perhaps, in terms of stock performance down a little bit. It used

to be higher before the summer swoon for the market but as you note earnings are in real business

beat earnings people are still watching TV their ongoing fears it's
