Hello and welcome to Speaking with Joy, a podcast about books, beauty, and music.

So make yourself a cup of tea.

Sit down and let's begin.

Hello, friends, and welcome back to Reading with Joy. This is my summer book club, and we are reading through Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton, and we are on Chapter 7,

Chapter 7 of 9. For all of you who have been listening

0:39.3

1:46.5

becomes Christian, because quite frankly, sometimes dear G.K.'s arguments are tumultuous and don't

1:53.0

totally follow a straight line. What he gives us are pictures, ways to understand the world,

1:59.2

things that kind of makes sense with our intuitions and

2:02.2

our kind of ways of interpreting and understanding the world. I loved this comment from Becky Avala,

2:08.9

I think is her name, or Avela. And she said, that Chesterden has painted images for me,
