The Hello Marvel

Marvel, you are listening to a special this week in Marvel Unlimited Reading Club episode of the show. I'm Ryan aka Agent M. And I'm Stevie Sabulski, editor-in-chief and X-Men fan.

Yeah, so this one is our fifth Twim URC of the year where we are focusing on different decades

each episode.

40s, 50, 60s, 70s, 80s, you're you're right yeah fifth I do math yeah

we're doing this one about the 80s and I think there was it was a no-brainer

for you and I CB to pick the X-Men. Yep.

And these are the comics that were instrumental in the 70s

and getting me involved in comics, which we touched on the last episode,

but the 80s is where it really like the X-Men came into

more prominence not for just myself but for so many people given the amazing

depth that these stories took on and the level of artistic quality that Marvel invested in each issue.

Yeah. So we're going to get into all the uncanny X-Men stuff in a second, but I want to ask you,

CB, what do you think of when bringing up Marvel in the 80s?

Marvel in the 80s to me was just,

it's where Marvel grew and my circle of friends grew because more people started getting into Marvel.

I think that's where the quote-unquote brand and I hate to use that word because it wasn't really a brand back then.

It was a

company that was delving into other things.

Spider-Man is amazing friends and some of the old TV shows from the 70s that were

camped but we know we were you know growing as a company in the efforts to promote the characters.

And I just noticed more people, more people started reading comics
