lecturer at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

She's also a science educator and she most recently started a really cool Google Hangout slash YouTube show called

read science where she interviews interesting science authors and talks to them

about their newest books.

I actually had a chance to sit down with Joanne

a couple of weeks ago when we were both in Ottawa

for a conference all about science and technology in Canada.
