We're thrilled to announce a three-year extension with nose tackle Travis Jones.

The Ravens have locked up the future of one of the best ascending young defensive tackles in this league.

Travis was entering, well, is in the final year of his contract, was a pending free agent,

and he would have been one of the top free agents on the market, potentially the tippy top defensive lineman.

And so the Ravens get this deal done three years with Travis Jones for a reported

$40.5 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schaefter. This is an exciting deal to get done as

the Ravens continue to really kind of secure the future now. It's been a busy couple of weeks here

for Eric Acosta in the Ravens front office. Last week, it was Mark Andrews getting the contract extension. Now it's Travis Jones. And we all knew that this offseason is a pretty

pivotal offseason for the Ravens, given a lot of the contracts and the pending free agents that

they have, Mark and Travis being maybe at the top of that list. And the ability to work out extensions

with the two of them before the season even ends,

I think secures the core here.

And something that we've heard from Eric DeCosta over and over again is that we want to be a team where the window is always open.

We want to be a team that is always competitive and not going all in one year and that's it.

And I think that keeping a player like

Travis Jones allows you to have a core member of your defensive front in place at a good price

it's a good price for the next the rest of the season in three more years I think it's a quality

move for the Ravens and Travis is a very unique player.
