passionate and cares a lot about specifically Iowa State wrestling so

Ben and I my co-host are extremely lucky that Fairway has joined us especially as we enter the

most important month of the year which is March Iowa State just finished out the regular season

they defeated Missouri on the road to finish out the season undefeated in the

Big 12th. They went overall 15 and 1 and 8 in the conference. They finished as the second

team with the most wins with the longest win streak behind number one Penn State, who is

currently 28 and 0 since February of 2020.

Technically, Iowa State has finished with the unofficial title of the Big 12 in terms of just the

regular season, the regular dual season, I should say.

Ben, you said it was the last time they were first in the

Big 12, it was 2009-10 season. Yes, that's correct. 2009-10. And I think the biggest thing to note

about that season is there was only four conference duels that season for Iowa State. So they

went four in a conference going eight and Owen conference for Iowa State this year.

Incredibly, incredibly impressive. That Iowa State team in 2009, 10 finished 13 and two overall.

Their two losses, interestingly enough were both to Iowa. They wrestled Iowa early on in the regular season,

and they wrestled Iowa in the Cliff Keene dual meet,

our national dual meet tournament.
