It's the Big Blue Banter New York Giants football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier. joined so as my host, Nick Palado. Today we're here to recap and give our thoughts on Joe Shane's pre-draft presser. He always done what does one of these, Nick. Talked about a lot of things in today's presser, but I did want to start today with two reports before we even did that.

They both kind of play into what we're talking about today. The first one is yesterday the Giants

brought in DJ Reeder, former Bengals and Lions interior defensive linemen for a visit. He was in

the facility, posted a picture. Now, 13 days from now on May 1st, I believe it is, or maybe a day before that, is a deadline,

and Sal, shout out Sal, brought this up to me, where if the Giants sign him, they can still

potentially keep their compensatory pick for next year.

And the Giants are projected Nick, according to, I forget his name, Nick something,

of over the cap,

to currently receive an extra fourth round draft pick in the 2027 draft class for what happened in free agency this week, which is essentially, I'm sorry, the season, which essentially

they lost big contracts with Flot and with Wondell, and they signed a few likely type players,

but the net net of it is the Giants are going to get an extra fourth round pick from a compensatory pick formula next offseason.

The last time they had this was the offseason they lost Barkley and McKinney.

So it's not totally uncommon for him, but it's going to start to become the norm, I think.

So I think it's important what Sal said.
