England had beat the checks, kept another clean sheet and they've qualified for the last 16 of Euro 2020.

Further good news, I've reassembled Sunday's Q&A dream team of Flo Lloyd Hughes and Carl Anker to pick the bones out of tonight's performance,

what it means for Southgate and the boys, and how we're feeling about the Euro's life in general. So get ready for some wildly modest optimism. Thank you. A 1-0 winning against the Czech Republic

and it may not have been a thrill ride

but there were plenty of bright spots for us to talk about

which will do in just a moment

but before we get into the nitty gritty

let's hear what the athletics England correspondent

Jack Pittbro Brook made of events

at Wembley tonight. I'm at Wembley where the final whistle has just gone on what I thought was

very controlled and professional and mature England performance there to win 1-0. I'm not quite sure

what the reaction was on TV. On Twitter I could see some people moaning about how boring the second half

was. And it was pretty boring. But then I think that's more or less the Garra Southgate game plan

is to have a team which is defensively very organized, which does not concede many chances at all,

and creates just enough to win these games narrowly.

That's pretty much what we saw against Croatia.

And today I thought England were a bit better than they were against Croatia,

although maybe against a team that wasn't quite as accomplished.
