But as far as what we saw today,

Darrell, I think there's a few key takeaways. The first is I'm going to lean on what I said

going into spring, what I've said going into every scrimmage, and what I've said going into

A-Day. If Jared Smith turns it on, it's great for Auburn football. And let me tell you what, today, Jared Smith turned it on. It's great for Auburn football. And let me tell you what, today Jared

Smith turned it on. Yeah, you know, he didn't get the defensive MVP award, but to me, he was the

most disruptive and the most obvious or emerging player on the field. You could not keep your

eyes off of him. 100%.

He was everywhere and he looked apart and Coach Gulles referred to it in the post-game

presser and you really get a greater appreciation for how tall, lean, disruptive he is on a football field.

If he plays like that in 12, 13 games next year, this defense is giving me so much better. Yeah, it's a problem for opposing offenses 100%. Yeah, there was a play where I forgot we got to detail the plays because a lot of people weren't able to make it. So there was a play where Jared Smith got an interception. It was off of a screen pass attempt by Byron Brown. And if they didn't blow it dead, it would have been a pick six.

I think they just rolled an interception, but nobody was catching Jared Smith, so they just wanted to go ahead and go to the next play.

But just talking about like how long he is, and Golish talked about like how long Jared Smith is, so we certainly saw that.

Let's stay on the same side of the ball defensively.

Bryce Diaz, I mean, in an offseason where we've talked about Atkins, Xavier Atkins,

and Elijah Melendez and, you know, how good Janarius Tootles looked as a freshman.

Bryce Diaz has kind of been the forgotten linebacker.
