big news at Liverpool today and this is why we're doing a special

podcast really. News broken by James Pierceius, about Liverpool, leaving their Melwood training base and moving to Kirby.

James, this is big news for the club and you know will come as you know be a bit of a

shock to a lot of supporters out there. Yeah I think you will I mean it's I don't think

it's a bit any great secret that

Clop has been a kind of a long-term admirer of amalgamating the two

training bases I think he spoke about it in a after preseason friendly

at Tranmere last July, just a few hours really after signing that new six-year contract.

You know, he said it was something the club were looking at.

And I think he felt that the club would benefit going forward from everyone being together

on one site.

Obviously various discussions and studies have been done since that time and now I understand that Liverpool are in a position where they're

on the brink of announcing plans to basically transform the Kirby Academy

into a state-of-the-art first team and youth training complex. I mean the

current Academy buildings, the stay as they are, but looking at a 50 million

pound project on the other side of the site to create a world-class

facility and that involved buying up 14 acres of land off the council.

Nolsey Council obviously the cover been in discussions with for a number of months.
