with Dane Mizitani at the Pioneer Press inside TCO Performance Center where

we just got done talking with the Minnesota Vikings new quarterback

J.J McCarthy. What an experience what a 24 hours that everyone here in this

building has gone through and now landing a quarterback that they appear to be very comfortable

with having landed at the number 10 overall pick didn't have to trade up and I think that we should just start with our first impressions of talking to J.J. McCarthy and his answers and then we could get into everything else. Dallas Turner. I want to hear what you have to say about the Falcons and their approach to the whole thing,

and we'll go from there on what the next steps are and how much patients might be required

with J.J. McCarthy, but my biggest takeaway, Dane, is that this was not J.J. McCarthy's first

press conference is not his first interview and you won't find too many human

beings his age as comfortable talking to a room full of people and as confident as

J.J McCarthy. This is a guy who talked about being in fifth grade and

deciding to he said edit his life to take this approach as a quarterback.

I mean, what were you doing in fifth grade?

I wasn't editing my life to be a pro quarterback someday, but that is kind of who J.J McCarthy is. Yeah he's

probably the most polished person I can imagine talking to 24 hours after the draft. I mean the kid's 21 years old. When I was

21 years old if you would have asked me to stand in front of a room of people with

billionaires to my left I would be a mute this kid, he won the press conference.

There was no doubt he was going to.

And it wasn't the most insightful.

It wasn't the most, you know, crazy good answers, great quotes, all that.

It was just very, very, by the book, clearly knows what he's doing, and he really at least feels the part of a franchise
