Summary
In this episode, we take a look at Jim Harbaugh's open letter to the football community, in which he proposes several significant rule changes for college football.
We open by looking at the optics of Harbaugh releasing the letter β one that made news nationally β and how it's very hard to call it anything but a win for the head coach and Michigan. We break down the reaction among fans and media members to the letter, and what it means moving forward.
We then break down the proposals, looking at the logic and feasibility of players potentially declaring for the NFL Draft early, being able to play in college for five years, being able to return to college if they aren't drafted (or are drafted low) and being able to return to college on the school's dime to finish their degree after their playing career is over.
Other proposals, such as reducing scholarship limits, allowing players and families to meet with agents and further discussion on the one-time transfer rule are also mentioned.

| 0:59.1 | He did an open letter to the football community proposing a number of changes that he would like to see. |
| 1:06.5 | And first, on the surface, Steve, I imagine you somewhat agree with me. I think this was, I agree with |
| 1:14.4 | for the first time ever, I agree with literally almost anything, everything he said. You know, |
| 1:20.9 | I think he talked about players should be able to have the opportunity, not should leave, |
| 1:26.4 | but have the opportunity to leave |
| 1:28.0 | before their three years are up. He talked about the one-time transfer rule that he's been |
| 1:33.7 | kind of pushing for over a year. He talked about the scholarship limit. You know, that one's a little |
| 1:41.4 | trickier. I think that's, that one was not maybe one of the |
| 1:44.6 | big heavy hitting ones. But really across the board, and there's two things here. One, I actually |
| 1:50.8 | grew with all of his points. And two, as far as the strategy of him doing this open letter this time of |
| 1:57.2 | year, I think was a really smart idea and really savvy move by him because whether |
