| 0:00.0 | When there are ghosts that have come from the army or a fandom of night that have no honor or one that lie dead in the desert or a ghost unburied or a demon or a ghoul, whatever thou be until thou art remodeling. |
| 0:18.0 | Thou shalt find here no water to drink. Thou shalt not stretch or thy hand to our own. Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence break through thou not. |
| 0:31.0 | We are protected that we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal. That we may be scared to death. |
| 0:41.0 | Welcome to scared to death creeps and papers. I'm Dan. Hi Dan. I'm Lindsay. This is 2020. You're in the future now. Oh my god. I can't believe it. Welcome to the new decade. |
| 0:51.0 | Hope New Decade is treating you right. I hope I hope it's showing you a little leg like this. More leg. More leg than New Decade. That's what I'm going for. That's my one new year's resolution. I was broken to a take your shirt off chant. Take it off. Take it off. |
| 1:07.0 | Thank you for the continued radiance and reviews as we near 20 episodes. I love reading that we are being discovered by an entirely new audience. Love seeing that in the comments. Not just time. Some people coming over. Not that we don't mind that at all. Love the time. |
| 1:19.0 | So crowd hail Nimrod. Hell loose. Athena. We love a little cross pollination. Yeah. Thanks for becoming creeps and papers. Thank you. And happy to announce starting a 2020. We have merch now. Yeah, we too. We have scared to death merch. You can link over to the bad magic store. |
| 1:36.0 | It's bad magic merch.com. And you click on collections. You'll see the scared to death line. All kinds of fun stuff. So many good things. Men's unisex cut tees. We have women's cut tees. Other random goodies like a Samaritan protection tapestry. It's very cool. Pillows fleece blanket, coffee mug, duffle bag, even a shower curtain. Where's my blanket? Why didn't you get me one? I haven't actually ordered anything from the story yet. It's brand new. All right. Brand new. Fine. You can even get a book like this. You can even get an STD. |
| 2:06.0 | It looks a lot like the one I'm telling the stories out of, you know, on these episodes. I like it. So many fun things. So many things. So, you know, if you need some new cool STD duds, do dads, as Lindsey would say, do dads. Get some do dads. Have at it. A do dad is a gold thing. Well, we got some do do did's. We have something, something like that. We got something. Okay. Fine. Lindsay will be sharing. How many of my stories today? Well, have two today. Now the second one is quite lengthy. Okay. And I don't want to give anything away. |
| 2:36.0 | Okay. But it is something that we have briefly touched on before. And I am fucking stoked to tell you this story. Good. Yes. Both stories are about kids seeing things. So if kids seeing whatever freaks you out, stay tuned. You are going to love these stories today. And before the listener sent in my stories, I'll be telling two horror tales today. Story number one comes from the small English little village of Langenho where a former church was once reputed to be |
| 3:06.0 | one of the most haunted places in all of England. Okay. And then we will examine the French born and then American revived legend of the demon whose name you are not supposed to name Zozo. So just just named it. Well, what happens when you name it? It's supposed to open up the possibility of this thing manifesting. And perhaps antagonizing worst case possessing you. Okay. Can I just tell you one thing about Zozo? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. For all of my crazy anatomy fans for anybody still watching it because I'm still loyally watching every week. Okay. |
| 3:36.0 | Meredith Grae's daughter her name is Zola and they call her Zozo. So fucking fuck. So she's a demon. She's a demon. D-Grae's anatomy demon. Mm-hmm. Thank you, Sean arrives. Way to go. All right. I'm ready to jump in. Are you ready? Can I get my blanket? Get your blanket. Now I've opted to only wear my sage necklace this week. And I think I'm going to hold my amulet because I've got some new due dads for Christmas around my neck. And it becomes a tangled mess ladies. You understand what I'm saying. So I can't break the amulet. But I think |
| 4:06.0 | he, if anybody knows, they can write to me at info at scaredinathpodcast.com and tell me that I think the trick with amulet is it has to be touching your skin. So I think if I just hold it, I'll be safe. Okay. Sure. Whoever wants to send Dan his first collection of crystals, please be my guest. Okay. Hold the amulet. Don't get in this due dad situation on your neck. Okay. I think I'm ready. |
| 4:36.0 | Okay. I'm ready. Okay. So a little bit of setup for this first tale. Okay. Good. Many believe that one of the most haunted places in all of England is Lengenho. Lengenho Anglo-Saxon for Long Hill. Very small town. |
| 4:48.0 | I've only about 500 people, just a few little houses and some shops, perched on some ground rising above some bleak marshland and Essex County England between London and the North Sea. |
| 4:58.0 | And until it was demolished in 1963, it may have had the most haunted church in all of England, the Lengenho Chapel, originally Catholic, later Anglican, built in the 14th century. Then it was seriously damaged in the Essex earthquake of 1884, remained open for worship until 1955 when declining structural integrity made it no longer a safe place to pray. |
| 5:20.0 | And then it was completely demolished in 1963 as it was about to collapse anyway. I don't think you're ever supposed to destroy a church. This church was about to destroy itself, I think. |
| 5:30.0 | It feels not okay. The little Lengenho village lies along the B-1025 road and today if you turn off this road into the tiny little town center, you arrive quickly at the remains of a desolate graveyard surrounded by trees where the Lengenho Chapel used to rise above the village. |
| 5:45.0 | The cemetery was also originally built in the 14th century. Now only a few solitary headstones still stand, laying in some tall grass. |
| 5:53.0 | Okay, creepy. |
| 5:55.0 | Yeah, it is creepy. We'll show some pictures of it later. Reports of hauntings in the area go back to almost the 14th century. Strange sounds and sightings have been reported by locals for hundreds of years. |
| 6:05.0 | So let's talk about them, shall we? |
