Hey everyone, it's Nate from You Can See Me in the Dark.

It's come to our attention that a lot of our new subscribers cannot see any of our

earlier content that we had out before we went fully independent.

So, to fix all this, we're going to be re-releasing all of our earlier content.

Enjoy! You mentioned that your dad was eccentric and like he was he like he wanted to live in

a house that looked like a haunted house.

I don't necessarily know if we wanted to live in a haunted house, but he definitely wanted

to live in like an old Midtown house that was kind of, it's one of those houses

that has a pretty big grand entrance kind of thing

and a grand staircase thing.

They just wanted to live in a house

that kind of seemed old, I guess old Victorian-y

and just not modern, if that makes sense.

My dad just wanted those guys that, if, like, you know,

it was a haunted house, he wouldn't necessarily care.

Like, he's just one of those guys.

And, you know, I guess my mom's the same way. I'm Melissa Sweeney and I'm Nate Reisman and this is you can see me in the dark. We've heard stories from all over on this podcast, but as we record this in Memphis, Tennessee,

we have a particular fondness for southern tales of the things that go bump in the night.

And nowhere else in the city of Memphis supplies the goods, like Midtown, a beautiful historic

section of the city with some of the oldest homes and the craziest characters.

Ed grew up in Midtown, and honestly, you don't snag a grand old home in this neighborhood without expecting some uninvited house guests.
