This episode is a rear, but it's been like, God, like at least four years, if not longer.

And it's super relevant and also a super fun episode.

And so here we are. This week, I have to tell you all quickly first, this week I finished the edits on my Odyssey. It's going to print any day now.

And oh, okay, it was so good. It's so good. I'm so excited. And also my nervous system. We're going to get her back on track. But in the meantime, if I'm perfectly honest with you, my nervous system cannot handle listening back to an episode I recorded with another person because the social anxiety, it's so, hmm, it's so strong. Anyway, we do have a couple

new conversations coming, but this week I simply couldn't listen back to myself talking.

So we're doing this one instead, but next week we're back. And honestly, I realized what Michaela

was covering on her history episodes and Herodotus and specifically book to you about Herodotus.

And I thought, you know what? Oh my gosh. I had such a fun conversation with Dr. Kate Maniti, who is an Egyptologist and also

a goddamn delight and an archaeo gamer. And so in today's episode, she and I talked all

about Herodotus in Egypt and also linked it heavily to Assassin's

Creed Odyssey because why the hell not?

And this episode is so fun.

We all get to learn the origins of hippopotamus, the river horse, and what wacky, wacky thing Herodotus was actually talking about? I mean,

basically Herodotus discovering animals in Egypt is just a core memory for me and a goddamn delight.
