As the frailty and weakness of human nature are universally known and felt by each one in himself,

no one can be ignorant of the great necessity of the sacrament of penance. If therefore the diligence

of pastors should be proportioned to the weight and importance of the subject,

we must admit that in expounding the sacrament they can never be sufficiently diligent.
