What's going on everybody? We are back with the Real Body Building

0:04.8

Podcast episode number 18 and I've had a lot of questions about relationships and

0:10.5

how to be in a relationship when you're dieting and all these other things.

0:14.0

So instead of you guys hearing it from me, I brought on two IFPB pros that are in a relationship

0:20.0

together and are married and have been able to make it work.

0:23.6

So we're gonna ask them if you guys want to say hello.

0:28.4

Hey, thanks for having us, man.

0:31.0

Melissa, are you there? Are you there?

0:34.0

Okay, so I guess you guys both here.

0:38.0

I want to ask you guys some stuff first.

0:40.0

So Melissa, I know you took some time off recently and I didn't, I don't know if maybe I wasn't paying attention to the

0:48.4

captions in your posts enough, but I just know that you took some time off. Do you want to get into why you took some time off?

0:55.2

I mean, you haven't missed anything. I don't think I really was specific about the time off

1:02.2

because there wasn't honestly a real reason for the time off.

1:05.5

It wasn't planned. It wasn't on purpose. It was almost a bit of a, I don't want to say mental breakdown, but like I lost something in my focus, in my drive that I, that kind of prevented me from moving forward with my competition season this year.

1:27.0

So, sorry, go ahead.

1:29.0

No, I just want to ask, was it a break from competition or was it a break from social media or was it just a break from everything?

1:36.7

It was everything. It was the gym, it was social media, it was competing, it was dieting, it was like like I feel like I lost myself for a bit

1:44.6

and I don't think I coped very well and instead of kind of what I normally do is like I

1:51.3

I cope and I push myself and I move on I kind of isolated myself for a few months and wasn't in the gym I wasn't on social media I wasn't seeing my friends I wasn't present for my husband like there was a lot of things going on that kind of

2:06.2

made me realize that I needed to look inside and figure out what was going on and figure out how to fix it and kind of learn from it so the next time anything happens like this again I don't get so far deep into that.

2:20.0

I don't know I don't know if I know exactly what you're talking about, but I've had periods of my career where I was like, I just want to shut it all down.
