Hello and welcome to the RotaWire Fantasy Baseball podcast. Today is Friday, January 5th. My name is Chris Crawford. I am joined by my good friend Ryan Boyer. We're going to be talking about a bunch of stuff because there was a bunch of transactions that took place over the last week and especially right before we were about to start recording. Mr. Depoto, we really appreciate it. For those of you who are watching live, I was wearing this hat before all the trades happened, but it is, and for those of you who are listening, I'm wearing a Seattle Mariner hat. My opinion, their best one, their new City Connect one. Anyway, we're going to talk about those trades as well as a trade between Atlanta and Boston that came out of nowhere.

And then in the second half of the show, we're going to look at the remaining free agent class.

And there's still some really good ones.

And we're going to offer where we think they would be the best ultimate landing spot for those free agents, where they fit from a fantasy perspective.

But let's talk about those transactions and

let's talk about the most recent one. Robbie Ray traded to the Seattle Mariners and I just lost

my buddy Ryan. That's okay. We're used to this by now. Robbie Ray is heading to the San Francisco

Giants in return for Mitch Hanigar and Anthony Descliffeani.

Robbie Ray was limited to just one start last year before, you know, they say it was a flexor tendon,

and then it became obviously something much more than that.

He ends up undergoing Tommy John surgery.

He's not expected back until the middle of the season. I almost

said December. That would be a really late start to the season. But Robbie Ray is not expected

to be back until the second half of the year. When he's been healthy, he has been a frontline

starter, a guy who has missed bats, your 2021 Sy Young Award winner.

So obviously there's some upside in that left arm.

I'm intrigued by what's happening with Robbie Ray.
