For more than five years, J has been buying yoga mats from yogalifestyle.com. He always appreciated that it was independently owned and operated. So he decided to have a talk with the owner, Ray Greenberg. They discuss how he fell into the yoga supply business, nuances in the yoga products market, insider business considerations (i.e. Amazon), and how things have changed in the yoga world. Ray speaks passionately about both yoga and the products he sells. They commune on the need to foster and nurture personal relationships.

0:00.0	All right, welcome to Yoga Talks podcast. My name is Jay Brown, and this is the first time I'm recording in 2016. It's a new year. I'm hoping that everybody had a good holiday.
0:23.0	Mine was good.
0:24.4	I had a really enjoyable time.
0:27.7	I go visit my in-laws every year.
0:31.8	I've done that for the last, oh, more than a decade.
0:35.5	And this year was good.
0:36.9	This year was fun. It had to be better than a decade. And this year was good. This year was fun.
0:39.4	It had to be better than last year because last year was rocky.
0:45.7	I can only speak for myself, but I know that when I got to the annual family holiday
0:53.1	gathering last year, I was not in a good way. I was tired. I was stressed out.
1:01.2	I had all this work to do, all this pressure on me, and I just, all I wanted to do was be by myself and not have to talk to anybody.
1:10.1	But I was at the family holiday
1:13.7	and you're supposed to be there to connect with your family. So what do you do? What do you do when
1:19.1	like the only time that you really see your family in the year you get together and that's the
1:26.2	time you're supposed to like be with them and and then you're
1:29.4	like you're not in a way to be with them you're not you're not even capable of being with them
1:34.8	just because you're in the same room with them doesn't mean you're like actually able to like
1:37.9	be present with them and connect with them you know so i, I was not fun guy to be around.
1:47.1	I didn't, I didn't contribute to that holiday in a good way, I don't think.
1:51.8	And I felt bad about it.
1:55.4	And I didn't, I didn't communicate that.
1:57.4	I didn't say anything.
