if not the greatest sports photographer in the history of sports photography. And I got to sit

down with him and Stephen filmed an interview with him, which we did put on YouTube a bunch of years

ago, which not a lot of people saw, but the video is incredible. The interview is

incredible and the photos are incredible. Now, if you want to hear the reasons behind why I decided

to post this now, well, you have to listen to Raw Talk episode number 86, which should be

on the list right before this one, because we went into a long

discussion about Neil Leifer being upset at me for some reason, and that triggered this whole

discussion. And then I was like, why don't we just post this audio from his interview? Because

if you love sports, if you love photography, you love photojournalism, then you're going to love what Neil has to say

in this interview. So here is the interview from a few years ago. Enjoy. I called you when I was

21 years old or so. I just went to your website, found your number, and gave you a call. You talked to

me. You offered to look at some of my photos and give me some feedback.

And I wasn't looking for anything back then, which was good because you're like, I don't know if I can give you any help.

Because it was, you know how difficult it is as a sports photographer trying to find your way today.

And even back then it was a little more difficult but but I always looked up to

your work even when I started as a 13 year old so first I wanted to start off with

that that I respect the hell out of everything you've done and what you've captured

is some of the best stuff I've ever seen well thank you know I remember the phone

call oh yeah and don't forget those they're kind of important because I remember when I was 13, 14.

That's exactly when I started.
