Summary

Rawan Osman grew up in a Hezbollah-controlled area in Lebanon and was taught to hate Jews. After meeting Jews in France, she began questioning everything she was taught and started studying Hebrew and Jewish history. Today she works to build dialogue and understanding between Arabs and Jews and supports Israel publicly. 1:18.5	For those who don't know me, I'm half Syrian, half Lebanese. My father is Sunni from Damascus,
1:24.1	and my mother is Shia from the Bukkah Valley in Lebanon. The Bucca Valley is on the eastern
1:30.2	side of Lebanon. So we share the borders with Syria. I grew up in Lebanon 18 years. There, I already
1:40.9	told you that I come from a secular family. Otherwise, my Sunni father would not marry my Shariat mother,
1:46.1	and they sent us to a French Catholic school.
1:49.9	Interesting. So growing up, all you knew about religion was Islam?
1:56.5	I attended a French Catholic school for 15 years, so I was subjected to Islam and Christianity.
