0:00.0 | Welcome to a brand new episode of the finished podcast. I am just so excited because I've started interviewing guests. Well, actually this is only the second guest I've had on the show. The last guest was actually on to tell her story about how she was kidnapped and assaulted and almost died at the hands of a serial killer. And now today's guest is an old friend who found love blind in a pod in a pod. |
0:31.0 | But equally as dramatic. Everyone welcome Raven to the show. |
0:36.3 | Raven from libous blind. This is how you're known now. So, so we're going to get into Raven and my friendship and backstory because what's been happening lately, which just shows how not aware some of y'all are, I posted our little watching party the other night, right. You came over and hung out. |
0:52.3 | And we had charcuterie and watched a couple episodes of the show to show our support because Raven, I've been friends for many years now. And I had all the comments I was getting on social media from people they were going. |
1:04.2 | Is that Raven from love is blind. You know, Raven from love is blind. I'm like, what? I don't Raven before she. |
1:10.9 | That was Raven from finish actually before rape. |
1:16.9 | She's going to forget us any second. She has more followers than all of us. Like she's just we're just lucky. She's graced us with her presence today. No. |
1:25.5 | You're still humble. Oh my gosh. What? I think this is where I started like I've learned so much from you. I'm like, I'm this is where I need to be. |
1:33.5 | We've had a lot of good moments over the years, actually. So of course we're going to get into some of y'all submitted questions about libous blind. She's here to talk. She's going to spill it. |
1:39.9 | But I wanted to go back because I was thinking someone asked me, how do you meet Raven? And I thought, my gosh, we've known each other for like more than a minute now. And I thought, how did we first meet? |
1:50.9 | Did we meet at that old pilates studio? I know because I feel like that's where you're training someone that I knew. Yeah, I used to be my personal trainer when I exercised. |
1:59.9 | She's still exercises. Actually, I just I love this. I love everything about this for Raven and about the situation because she's so deserving of this attention and to spend it hopefully into, you know, supporting the business she's been working so hard on. But you're absolutely like the best trainer. Let's just start there. I don't know about love and reality. |
2:19.9 | But your approach to fitness and wellness is something that over the years, I've just loved and we've worked really well together with fitness. She supported us at our events. If you've come to our pop up, she's likely been the trainer that we've had. But yeah, I originally, whenever we first met, I mean, it's probably been a long time. |
2:39.9 | The year is 2019. Yeah, I think we started working out together and then finished kind of started growing into something that it is now and you started hosting workout classes for us and teaching and then we would work out together. Yeah, at different studios in town. |
2:57.9 | And you would train me sometimes you gave me a butt for a minute when I was actually working out. But you're background. I mean, you were a ballerina. I think a lot of people don't totally know that because there was another ballerina on this show. |
3:09.9 | Well, how crazy is that? I know that all she wanted to talk about was ballet. What I'm sitting here be like, y'all need to look back at some of Raven's photos. So, yeah, so you were a ballerina. |
3:18.9 | Yeah, yeah, yeah, I danced professionally my whole life. I even, that's what I got my degree in at SMU. But that's really what like led me to really dive into Pilates and start to love it. |
3:30.9 | Because I had done Pilates my whole time doing dance. That's like our main form of cross training. And so after deciding like, dance isn't for me right now. That's kind of how I, you know, transitioned but it was so funny like being around another like serious dance. |
3:47.9 | There's different kinds of dancers. I'm not saying some are serious and some are not. But like when you're actually at a professional level. And so it's so funny that like coming like and I like we're best friends literally, but it's just so funny scene. Her being like, I'm about a dancer. |
4:02.9 | And of course, guys, when they're on the other side of the island. Yeah, they're like, oh, she could do the splits. I don't know why that's so hot to a guy. I'm like, I'm stretching right now sitting down. I'm so inflexible discussing. Yeah. |
4:15.9 | Oh, no, that's so great. And you're from Louisiana. Yeah, I'm from New Orleans. Yeah. I know I feel like everyone's like, oh, she's from Dallas. Like, no, we actually have a lot of listeners from Louisiana. So yeah, that's I, I remember. Do you remember when I told you like, I literally remember when I lived in New Orleans, like listening to you on the radio. Really? Yes. Like, I was like in high school. It'd be like driving to school. Like, oh my god. Like, she's so funny. |
4:41.9 | Oh, when you were in high school, she makes me feel old. Why? You were like in high school too. I feel like it's out of college. I was so not. I started that show and I was like 26. Yeah. Yeah. |
