Welcome to the dig, a podcast from Jacobin magazine. My name is Daniel Denver, and I'm broadcasting from Providence,

Rhode Island. The media has defined Representative Rashida Talib as someone who called Trump a

motherfucker, and as a Palestinian-American Muslim woman who stands up for Palestinian liberation.

She is, of course, all of those things.

But she is also an environmental justice activist from the grassroots,

a working-class warrior and DSA member born and raised in Detroit,

whose people she now represents in Congress.

Today's interview is a short interview, at least by Dig Standards, with Representative Talib discussing the local struggles that guide her work on behalf

of the working class in Congress, the urgent need for a politics that puts people over profit,

the question of impeachment,

and also why Americans are coming around to supporting a free Palestine.
