I'm answering one of your questions. Hi Sarah. My name is Tracy. I just listened to episode 154

and I really loved the idea of letting your children have lots of free reading time. I have six

children. My oldest is 10 and he is a voracious reader. My issue is when I go to the library,

I'm trying to look after six children, including a 19-month-old and three-year-old twins. And I can't

really bet every single book that he might pick out. So I'm wondering how I can guide his reading

and yet still allow him lots of free choices. Hey Tracy. Okay. So yes, this can be really tricky.

In all be honest, I'm finding that it's a lot harder to take our kids to the library and let them

wander these days. And it's getting harder all the time for trying to keep our kids reading lives

from being filled with morally objectionable content. So it's a huge bummer. I really wish we

could just let our kids like have free reign in the library. But for a lot of us, that's not really

in alignment with what we're hoping to do. So also, you've got your hands full with little ones.

Oh my goodness. I so remember the three-year-old twin stage. That is a very hard stage with twins.

And then I think you all have mentioned you have an eight-team at the old. Okay. So let's talk about

some ways to handle this. One strategy that I do is I, if my kids pick books from the library that

I'm not familiar with, then when we get home and I usually can't do this at the library. So we check

them all out and we get home. And I would go through them really quickly before kids ran off with

them. And any books that I didn't recognize, I'd put in a stack and I would take, you know, 10 minutes
