Welcome in everybody to fantasy pros. This is the mini football podcast. That's right. This is the trade deadline action spectacular. We saw all the movement going on the NFL and we thought you would love to get our rapid reaction about what has gone on the players that have moved what it means for week nine what it means rest of season. Of course, perhaps even what it means in some dynasty leagues to Derek Brown is here to help me break it all down. Debro let's kick things off here. The trade deadline.

With an indivision trades of the you don't see very often TJ Hawkinson gets moved on to the Vikings from the Lions of all places. The Lions get back a second round pick at a third round pick. Hawkinson goes along with a fourth round pick as well. So let's talk about this for a moment here. Obviously, Irv Smith's injury is going to be one that's going to take him throughout the season. Probably you won't see him again. It looks like and T.J. Hawkinson is that replacement. So let's talk about what replaces T.J.

Hawkinson's productivity if anything really in Detroit and also let's talk about Hawkinson fitting in with his new friends in Minnesota. I mean, I think obviously, you know, Minnesota has not been inclined to feature Irv Smith in the passing game of the tight end position of time. Now I think that that could change with Hawkinson. Because look, none of these coaches drafted Irv Smith believed in Irv Smith had like had anything in long term invested in Irv Smith. So.

The fact that the team has made the move to get TJ Hawkinson in there. I think it's really interesting. Joe, I mean, Brock ride is the guy in Detroit that I think assumes the starting position and for their tight end group. And he's interesting. If you want to take a flyer, considering the state of the tight end position, I don't hate it. When we looked this up when we were on the livestream, I was surprised by how athletic he was actually runs a 4740. He's produced well in small sample size. But for Hawkinson himself, I mean, I think

look, as bad as the tight end position is right now, we know he's going to take some time to get up on the playbook. He's still going to be a tight end one, a low end tight end one. I mean, I'm not going to push him into top five, top six status. But I think it's good things for Hawkinson. At least like, I mean, at worst, we look at it. It's a lateral move.

Yeah, to me, it feels more lateral than anything. I mean, if you can trade Hawkinson and get Pat Friar move back, who we'll talk about a little later. And something else, I would do that in a second. For some reason, Hawkinson's value is.

I think a little inflated based off name and potential and the fact that the fantasy community at large has been hyping him for many, many years now. So more of a lateral move there agreed.

It hurts KJ Osborne, we assume to because there's another viable pass catching option there. And really, it's just kind of status quo. What's not status quo though, the dolphins making some changes to their running back rooms.

They acquire Jeffrey Wilson Jr. from the 49ers for a fifth round pick. And then they send your favorite player in the history of the universe chase Edmonds with a 2023 first round pick at 2020 for fourth round pick to the Broncos for Bradley Chubb.

So they get a running back and they get some defensive help to. So let's break this down. It's been a weird season for chase Edmonds.

I don't know if the Broncos want to start throwing the ball to running backs again, certainly in the last couple of weeks, that's not been there.

Mo, but what does this mean with Jeffrey Wilson, re-unite it again, he gets where he most again, it's like the old band getting back together here under coach McDaniel.

I mean, McDaniel is just taking parts of pieces that he knows he knows what to expect at a Jeff Wilson and that's a proven volume runner. And so now instead of having to lean on Raheem most are being that primary guy.

I mean, you know, we were looking at Raheem most are just being a mid to low end RB do Joe, we talked about in the podcast look back, man, like Raheem most are upcoming schedule is fantastic for running backs.

So as high as I was on him, I'm like, oh, go get him. Go get him. Now it pushes Raheem most are in Jeff Wilson or probably both RB threes and out of this backfield. I like Jeff Wilson more because if you're looking at one guy and saying, okay, who's going to be the goal line back?

I think it's going to be Jeff Wilson and you got to love. Don't put that evil on me about me and chase Edmonds. Okay. I love chase Edmonds. It's been chase Edmonds season point from July. You love chase Edmonds. And that's okay. I love DJ Dylan. That hasn't worked out either. We all have things that are been good. We have things that haven't been good.

But I assume everybody is super frustrated who had Jeffrey Wilson dropped him the last week and now he said, he's kind of got a second life in him. And if I'm the dolphins, I kind of want to get Jeffrey Wilson involved more because I think there's a better chance he's useful to that team next year if they want to keep him around as a host of most who is already on borrowed time.

It feels like it all times, but chase Edmonds. Can he find a path to fantasy productivity in Denver? I absolutely love that right after that hit the timeline. Of course, I get pinged in our slack. And it's the first thing that hits it is a sheatman.

Friedman hitting me goes, I guess it wasn't chase Edmonds season at all. And I'm like, yeah, give me a second. Friedman. I'm gonna show you in the slack channel. So that's how you know it's been a long Tuesday. That's how you know.

And just to your point, Joe, about people dropping Jeff Wilson, he is only rostered in 35% of Yahoo League. So drop like a bad habit last week.

You pick him up. And if waivers have already run, I mean, while you're listening to this, you need to go over there and be like, and pick up Jeff Wilson, because again, thank you.

Thank you. So there's a lot of things that you can do. I think it's an RB three with the upside of touchdown equity. And what we think is a still a really good dolphins offense. So I like the move. And if if you're hurting a running back, yeah, go get Mr. Jeffrey Wilson. All right, let's move on to the next one here.
