So we've got plenty to cover in rapid fire, I think, today.

For starters, Notre Dame Athletic Director Pete Babakwa, of course, is at the table with

Power 4 Conference Commissioners and the negotiations for another expansion of the college

football playoff.

We heard yesterday the report that Pete Babacqua was behind the 2014 playoff or in favor of the 2014

playoff. Now, the athletic has some of Bavakwa's first public comments on the subject. Of course,

ACC athletic directors were at the ACC spring meetings in Florida this week. So here's what

Bavacqua says about why he supports expanding the playoff to 24. Quote, I think in this day and age

with what universities are investing in football, it's a very expensive sport. You need to give more teams hope. The way things

are structured now, everything points to the CFP. It's a measure of success. It's important in the

tenure of a coach. We've seen firings when teams aren't going to make it to the CFP. And my concern

is that if more teams aren't given hope that universities

over the course of the next five, ten years will say, hey, is this investment worth it? And I would

hate to see a college football landscape where there's only a handful of teams that can really give
