Summary

Raphael Rowe was wrongfully convicted as part of M25 Three and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. It was a privilege to sit down with Raphael and hear all about his experience - both during and after his imprisonment, the rituals that kept him going, and the joys of fatherhood. This turned out to be such a fascinating and vulnerable chat, we really dug in deep and I hope you love it!

I am Angela Scanlan and you are listening to Thanks a Million,

0:23.4

the podcast that talks about thanks with the good, the great and the grateful. How's your day been?

0:29.5

Mine has been pretty full on. I am relatively new to the school run. I don't know whether

0:35.5

you know or have experienced the school run. Maybe

0:38.7

you're in walking distance. I'm not. So I have been stuck sluggishly in traffic all morning. But it's

0:44.7

fine. I'm channeling positive energy. It took a lot of mustering. Also, my daughters are

0:52.0

snotty. Not in the, you know, societal way, but like literally

0:56.2

bubbling with snot. Sorry, that's too much information, isn't it? Shall we go on? There are just

1:02.5

about a million things that I have been grateful for lately. Today, it just dawned on me that I am so, so thankful. I mean, I look forward so much to a little

evening date with a magnifying mirror. I don't own one because I feel it would lead to my demise.

1:26.9

But when I get to a hotel that has a magnifying mirror and some

1:31.1

good sweet light, my nose gets it. Seriously, in my current house I feel like my pores are really tiny.

1:40.1

And then I get up to a magnifying mirror and boom, I can see all the good stuff.

1:46.8

And I don't know why, but it's just deeply, deeply satisfying.

1:52.4

I know this feels really graphic and disgusting.

1:55.3

And it's not full on pimple popper, but there's definitely an air of that to it.

1:59.9

So to whatever genius pervert invented the magnifying mirror,

2:04.9

merci beaucoup.
