Summary

What do you think are the stupidest things Entrepreneurs say? In this episode, Rob divulges his top two statements that he hears from entrepreneurs that he thinks are stupid, contrarian and lack common sense!   KEY TAKEAWAYS  The product sells itself.Nothing sells itself! There may be items you believe sell themselves, such as the i-phone, but remember apple has been round for decades and has had billions upon billions of investment. You need to work for your product to sell, in branding, marketing, your team, customer service and…selling! Build it and they will come. No, build it and then go and get everyone yourself. Create demand, deals, stories, marketing and everything else you need to sell your product!   BEST MOMENTS  “If you’re gonna be great at anything be great at marketing”   [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Now before I get a load of shit, this is kind of a bit of fun,

0:16.8

but these are things that are not common sense, that are actually contrarium,

0:23.0

and there is this common wisdom that many entrepreneurs most, I would argue,

0:27.5

just one man band really, things they say that I believe through my 15 years of experience,

0:32.8

is completely and utterly wrong. Now right now in my disruptive entrepreneur community,

there are that entrepreneurs say, that business owners say, and I would love your thoughts.

0:49.6

So jump in in the disruptive entrepreneur community and let's share some stupid things,

some common sense that isn't so common and then I can deliver you some education around that

0:59.5

and help you. So the first one that gives me an aneurysm is the product sells itself, nothing

1:06.7

fucking sells itself. What, the product grows legs, gets in the car with its briefcase,

1:12.9

drives around the country selling itself to everyone. The product takes your credit card,

1:19.6

processes your credit card details, takes the money, looks up, no, whenever anyone says the

1:25.4

product sells itself, it means they don't have to sell the freaking product. So your product never

1:33.5

sells itself and then some people say, oh yeah, but Rob, Elon Musk, his cars sell themselves,

1:39.6

Tesla sell themselves, iPhone sell themselves, no they don't, these companies have been built

1:44.8

over 15 and 20 years with billions and billions of dollars worth of investment and people have

1:51.2

been, you know, like how many brand companies and consultants and marketers have got around the

2:00.3

table to sell an iPod or an iPhone, I give you an example of this, the iPod didn't sell itself,

2:07.0

but the marketing slogan, 10,000 songs in your pocket, that sold the iPod and that is not the
