Summary

According to Oxfam, the worlds 10 richest peoples’ wealth has more than doubled during the pandemic. Of course, Oxfam are striving for wealth equality in the world but Rob isn’t quite sure they understand the financial systems we are living under and in this episode, talks about why that is and the other side to the story. KEY TAKEAWAYS  Rob is a champion of small business, entrepreneurship and true capitalism. He recognises that he doesn’t agree with socialism or communism. These things considered, he knows that he is going to have quite a different stance to someone like Oxfam.  Instead of constantly criticising the rich, we should be looking at what it is they are doing so successfully. How can we learn from them and improve all of our own lives. The companies that have done well during the pandemic are all offering a service that people either need or want. They are all tech savvy, scalable and useful. The 10 richest people haven’t caused the pandemic poverty, the pandemic has. Mostly it has been exacerbated by government policies and the market. Decentralisation is happening in media, in social media, in data, in access, in internet, in metaverse, in currencies, it’s an anti-globalisation movement which individuals can get involved in. It’s never been easier to create your own wealth and have your voice heard. The complex governmental and tax systems mean that a large chunk of everyone’s money gets wasted but this doesn’t get nearly enough attention. It’s something people should be talking about rather than just asking for more tax from the rich. BEST MOMENTS   “We can moan or we can learn” “My mission is to educate people better on finances” “8 out of 10 of the richest people in the world are in tech, so what does that tell you?” “You’ve got more or a voice than you’ve ever had before” [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Entrepreneurs create meaningful businesses that change the world. Entrepreneurs take risk in the

0:04.7

hope of profit. So the pandemic has made the rich even richer, trigger warning, cash tag just saying,

0:14.6

so according to Oxfam, the world's richest 10 people, the 10 billionaire richest people in the

0:23.0

world, their wealth has more than doubled in the pandemic. I'm going to tell you about that and

0:28.7

what that means, but this is going to upset a lot of people. Now obviously Oxfam campaign for

0:37.6

wealth equality and they certainly seem to be very upset by the world's wealth in equality,

0:45.6

but I'm not sure that they fully understand the capital or the variant capital system that we're

0:51.4

in. So look, I don't know what you think about the world's 10 richest people getting even richer,

0:58.4

collated double their wealth in the pandemic and the lockdowns. Let me know what you think

1:04.0

about that in the comments. Now look, some of the people who are going to get triggered by this

1:08.9

are going to say things like, well, you know, the government subsidized Tesla and it's essentially

1:15.0

a monopoly and the governments are scared of big tech and big tech are well financed and

1:20.6

rule and own the world. And there may be some truth in that. You know, I am a champion of

1:27.4

entrepreneurship. I'm a champion of small business. I'm a champion of true capitalism,

1:33.3

though many capitalist states aren't really true. Capitalist states. I'm certainly

1:39.6

anti communism or socialism dressed as communism or socialism dressed as capitalism anyway.

1:47.2

So look, there's always two sides to the story. And yeah, when you are one of the big four,

1:52.0

the big tech companies in you, you probably do have power, you probably do have advantage,

1:56.2

you probably do have monopoly, you probably do have subsidy, you probably do have fear,

2:00.1

you probably do have political influence, you probably can pay off. I don't know. But here's the

2:05.6

thing, are we going to bitch and moan and complain about it and attack them all day every day?

2:11.0

Or are we going to go, hmm, if they've got an unfair advantage, how can I create my own
