And joining me is our transfer guru in the last days of the January transfer window. Mr. Dean Jones.

How you doing, mate? I'm good, mate. Yeah, what a weird old window we've been peering into

and wanting to jump out of, I guess at times across this month. It's really not lived up to what

we would usually expect from a transfer window, given what we've seen from recent

ones.

I was warned, coming into it, that it would be slow.

It wouldn't be great.

But I really didn't think the fall off would be this stark compared to past windows.

I mean, a year ago, the January transfer window, we saw over 800 million pounds spent

across the Premier League. And right now, I mean, there's such a falloff. I mean, we are going to

go over 50 million pounds. But at the moment, as it stands right now, recording this, we're below 50 million

pounds being spent. Once you start throwing in, okay, well, Crystal Palace are going to spend

20 odd million pounds on a Blackburn midfielder, and this will happen, that will happen.

The overall spend might get to about 100 million, I guess, or maybe a bit over, but we're going

to feel so far away from where we were.

And obviously, the last summer window was a mega one too.

I hope we could have some late activity.

And I do get the feeling there's going to be a flurry of deals, but it ain't going to be the sort of stuff we've seen in the last couple of windows, that's for sure.
