| 0:00.0 | So it is WrestleMania season, my friends, or maybe it's not. |
| 0:03.5 | Maybe you're watching this in 2047 after WrestleMania has been killed off, |
| 0:07.5 | and we're never allowed to talk about it again because it's been made illegal. |
| 0:10.6 | But don't live in the future. |
| 0:11.6 | However, let's pretend that did not happen because it sounds absolutely terrifying. |
| 0:15.0 | And given that WrestleMania 42 is on our site, as I am recording this, |
| 0:18.3 | why don't we sit down and have a cup of coffee and rank every single WW WrestleMania main event from worst to best. Sal Good, you won't agree, so make sure you do leave a comment below. And please do subscribe. I am Simon Miller. I am a fool. Let's go. Number 47, Lawrence Taylor versus Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania 11. Everybody backstage at the then-WWF went, |
| 0:37.8 | well, Bam, he's such a supreme worker. |
| 0:39.7 | We can put him with NFL superstar Lawrence Taylor. |
| 0:42.3 | We can stick it in the main event. |
| 0:43.8 | Imagine we did that today. |
| 0:45.2 | And everything's going to be all right. |
| 0:46.5 | Now, if you do not know, Lawrence Taylor is largely considered |
| 0:48.7 | one of the best defensive players in NFL history. |
| 0:51.3 | So the fact he came in to do WrestleMania 11, |
| 0:53.9 | well, it was totally nuts. |
| 0:55.4 | Also, while today we're very used to celebrity appearances, back then, hence why it did go |
| 0:59.8 | on last, everybody was surprised. This was not a bad bunny or a Logan Paul from 2006, however, |
| 1:05.6 | because the word is Lawrence Taylor kind of turned up, did a little bit of training or understood |
| 1:09.4 | the basics when he went out there to perform. So you can go and watch this today. He does do a lot of American football moves. Lawrence is well into his tackles, but otherwise, well, it's just a little bit wiggly-diggly. I actually think before we did have this new wave of people coming in to destroy the concept of what outside wrestling is meant to be, this was likely better. But we do know what that looks like now. |
| 1:28.4 | And again, if you look at a Logan Pool or a bad bunny, the matches they have done, well, that could appear on a Monday Night Raw or a PLE and nobody blinks an eye. Whereas this being the main event of WrestleMania, well, it lacks the gravitas and mostly has been done for mainstream press. And that's totally fine, but it's also a little bit of a slap in the face to fans. |
| 1:45.3 | Although if you were into your American football and you saw these two worlds coming together, you probably stared out the window and wondered to yourself, how did we get here and have I accidentally done some drugs? Well, you hadn't done some drugs. It did go down. And in terms of a novelty, it's certainly worth the watch. But when you bring the whole wrestling side into things, oh yeah, it does have to be last. |
