One of the great pleasures of Golden Age detective fiction, I think, is that some of its best writers were very prolific.

It makes it easy to fall down a bibliography-shaped rabbit hole. You liked your first Agatha Christie?

Don't worry, there are at least 60 more where that came from.

But while I've always been a great admirer of critics that use this kind of deep focus as the basis for their work, I haven't really been one of them.

She done it is more of a thematic project, rather than a chronological or completest one.

It isn't that often, therefore, that I look at everything by one author

and decide what's my favourite. I read magpie-like across lots of different writers and series

as my ideas require. However, I have started trying to deep dive more on single authors of late,

which is why today I'm delighted to say that I'm going to be

ranking the work of Christiana Brandt.
