0:00.0 | Good morning, friends and enemies. We are back with an updated list of my running back |
0:04.8 | rankings, July 2025 edition. I'm going to make sure I keep rolling these out throughout the |
0:09.3 | summer, so we keep everything updated. These are broken down by tiers. This is just the running |
0:13.6 | back position. We will be doing the wide receiver version of this same thing on Monday. So if you |
0:18.3 | want to see that one, make sure you subscribed to the channel. And as I explained in the last rankings video I did a month ago, a month and a half ago, |
0:25.5 | the way that I'm breaking these rankings and these tiers down are more from a strategy |
0:29.8 | standpoint. So they're all going to be tiers with names attached to them, how I think you should |
0:34.2 | approach drafts. Not so much like draft RB12 over RB13, but here's |
0:38.6 | a chunk of dudes that I would be fine structuring my team around if they were my RB1 type of |
0:43.4 | beat. All right? So we're going to go down a list that way. I won't take too much time on each |
0:47.3 | individual player, but more so pinpoint anyone that has changed in my rankings, move tiers, |
0:53.0 | or I have new thoughts on them from the last time I did this video. So we'll start at the very top. And this is where we started. Last time, we have a tier by themselves. That is just Mr. Sequin Barclay. He is my RB1. I see very, very, very, very, very, very, very few flaws in his outlook for this year. He is the odds on favorite to repeat as the offensive player of the year. Five to one odds. No one else is even in the triple digit odds there. You know, you could say what you want about Sequin and his touch count. I'm not going to buy into the, to the Madden Curse. I'm not going to buy into that. Oh, he's going to break down. Whatever. Sequin's my RB one. We'll move into Tier two. Tier two is basically elite, but just not Saquan. This is Bejohn and Jemir Gibbs. I personally like Bejohn a little bit more. I think he's got the workhorse ability out there in Atlanta. We saw what he did with Michael Penix. Towards the end of the year, he was a guy that was legit averaging 25 touches per game, 25 opportunities per game over the second half of the year. |
1:44.7 | That's just going to flood into 2025. And I think Bejohn at 14 to 1 for offensive player of the year is actually one of the better bets on the board. But Bejohn 2, Demir Gibbs 3. I have Gibbs a little bit lower just because when David Montgomery is back, we're not exactly sure how the role is going to be split. like I think you do have to factor it in, you know, David Montgomery may be getting 50% |
2:03.0 | of the goal line touches again. They obviously lose Frank Ragnow. They lose Ben Johnson. So there's a little bit more mix up in that offense than they had last year. Overall, Gibbs is just one of the most explosive and fun players in the NFL. And I think he'll be fine for fantasy regardless. Tier number three are two guys that I would say |
2:18.4 | lack something somewhere, but I would be shocked if they don't finish as an RB1 at the end of the |
2:23.6 | season. This is Derek Henry and Ashton Genty. Derek Henry, you know, he could bust off for 20 |
2:28.5 | touchdowns in this offense. What I love about the Baltimore offense actually is just the continuity |
2:32.8 | that we've now seen between the |
2:34.4 | offensive coordinator, the offensive line coming into the new year, Lamar Jackson continuously |
2:38.7 | getting better and better and better, and Baltimore, like, not adding anything to that |
2:42.6 | backfield. So Derek Henry coming off of a 1900-yard rushing season, he's the odds on |
2:46.7 | favorite to lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns. I don't see a problem with anyone betting on him to score 15 to 20 rushing touchdowns. Like that would not be crazy. This is going to be a great Baltimore team. So obviously not going to catch any passes there, but he's going to score a ton of rushing touchdowns. Gentie's kind of like the the dark horse in this year's fantasy realm because we have so many good upside running backs and we have a lot of guys right underneath this tier. but Gentie's like, you know, the number six overall pick. He's going to the Raiders where he should get every opportunity to get every opportunity. I just question how good that offense can really be, but I do like the stability a little bit more with Gino Smith there. They're putting some things together with Pete Carroll. So Gentie's a guy that I would be surprised if he finished with fewer than 1,400, 1400, 1,500 total yards from scrimmage. The touchdown numbers are where I think I differ a little bit with Henry. Like, Henry might have double the number of touchdowns that Gentie does, but Gentie's a very good pass catcher, so he could double up his reception total there. But regardless, both of those guys should as RB1s for sure. Tier number four, |
