Chaos unfolding overnight in Baltimore.

That's where a large ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge,

partially collapsing the structure

and sending multiple vehicles that were on the bridge into the river below.

Baltimore fire officials say at least 20 cars fell into the water and described this as a mass casualty event.

A live stream from the port of Baltimore captured the moment of the collapse.

A cargo ship struck a column of the bridge causing it to give way.

The ship then caught on fire. The 1.6 mile long bridge spans the Patapsco River as part of I-695 south of downtown Baltimore.

Officials say recovering any people in the water remains a top priority,
