We begin the show tonight with some more breaking news.

This and the special counsel Bob Mueller investigation involving Russian meddling.

NBC News has learned that Mueller is assembling a case for criminal charges against the Russian

individuals who carried out the actual hacking and leaking of the private information as part

of Putin's campaign to meddle in the 2016 election and purportedly to help Trump's candidacy.

That's according to multiple current and former government officials that are familiar with the matter.

Does that case include any Americans? Does it include WikiLeaks? What about Putin himself?

Well, U.S. intelligence says he directed these attacks.

Now, whatever the specific answer is, this development does show, though, that Mueller's investigation is moving and moving rather quickly. Remember,
