Hey, everyone. The Last Laugh is on a much-needed vacation this week. But with the Emmy Awards coming up next weekend, I wanted to repost the fascinating interview I did with comedian Rami Yusif last year, just before the first season of his show Rami was about to premiere on Hulu.

Since then, his career has just absolutely taken off.

Rami surprised pretty much everyone watching by winning a Golden Globe in January for that show's first season.

Now he's nominated for two Emmys for the second season, outstanding lead

actor in a comedy series and outstanding directing for a comedy series. The great

Mahershala Ali also scored a supporting actor nom for his incredible performance as Rami's shake.

When we talked last April, Rami was just about to fly out to Chicago to tape his first

hour-long special feelings for HBO.

Here he is talking about his family's unlikely connection to Donald Trump.

So I grew up with this photo in my living room of my dad and Donald Trump shaking hands.

I saw it every day as a kid.

And when you're a young Arab kid, anyone who's friends with your dad, like, that's your uncle.

And last couple years I'm watching TV

and I'm just like, Uncle Donald?
