This is a special one.

We are embarking now on the first anniversary of the passing of Lakers' great Kobe Bryant,

his daughter Gianna, and several others, and that tragic helicopter

crash in Calabasas, California on January 26th of last year. And joining me two colleagues

here at ESPN, who knew Kobe, about as well as anybody in our group Ramona Shelburne Dave McMinneman.

Ramona, let me start with this.

And I wonder, I know I feel it all the time and it's certainly, it hits you at different times, but even a year later, is it still hard the process that Kobe is gone? Are there times where you think about them or you see something? And it just, it still doesn't quite seem real. Oh, time i mean it's it's it's amazing to me that

um you know i can still i'm i'm actually sitting about five feet away from where i was sitting

last year at this time when you and i recorded a a podcast remember that that night yes um and

uh it was like really raw um that night i Yes. And I was like really raw that night.

I think I spoke to Dave, I think you were the first colleague I talked to that day.

And I was, I remember when I saw the news, it was, you know, TMZ and I was just shaking

and crying and upset and, but also going into reporter mode, like,

oh, okay, what should we do?

And I don't know, my only instinct was like, I should go to the scene.

I should start working.

I should, we have to confirm the news.

Like, you know, you have these things that you're going through right then.
