Spotted by a Manchester United scout at age 13, Micky ended up playing in the Red Devils' academy with the likes of Ryan Giggs, Adrian Doherty, Paul Scholes and David Beckham before signing back with his hometown club Sunderland.
Across a career spanning 18 years, from the low of missing the decisive penalty in the 1998 Championship Playoff Final to the high of representing his country, Micky takes us through a hugely interesting time playing football at the top level, including run ins with managers, fans, and future England captain Wayne Rooney.
