Yeah, exactly. What are your first memories of falling in love with football?

When did you experience football and think that is the one thing for me? That is the sport for me.

I grew up in the middle of London in Islington, in the shadow of Arsenal's Old Stadium in Highbury.

I guess I came of age 6, 7, 8, 9. I noticed that in the mid-60s, when the crowds were just gigantic at English football.

I got taken by my uncles. My parents emigrated from Ireland in the late 50s. I was born.

They were joined by regular reinforcements from their own family. As people were 16, they came to London to write.
