La ilaintu l-Qadri khayru min al-Fishah

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

To purify the intention is one of the cornerstones of acts of worship

In this Dean that Allah has sent to us

Bismillahi r-Rahman ar-Rahim al-hamdulillah wa salatu wa salama ala Rasulillahi wa ala alihi wa s-sahbihi ajmehi

My brothers and sisters we are in the blessed month of Ramadan

This beautiful month we're in which we fast for the sake of Allah

Fasting is to abstain from food and drink and various other things from a certain time to a certain time

When you have abstained from eating and drinking

Only Allah knows what degree of abstinence you have actually engaged in

Because like I said earlier food and drink is only a part of it

There are other things as well

So in a similar way when you have a pure intention

And when you really would like to do something for Allah

And you want to please him you will make sure you're conscious about everything else

It's not just about getting done with it food and drink

I didn't eat all day my fast is done

That's it I'm going to go to the mosque and I'm going to pray with everyone else I'm back

And it's just a routine rather than that

You purify your intention when it's done solely for Allah to please Allah

Then what happens?
