Subhanahu wa Ta'ala grant us multiplication in the goodness that we have and may he allow that to continue through our offspring as well

I mean my beloved brothers and sisters in Islam this evening we will be speaking about one of the uncles of

Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam who was similar in age to Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam and who grew up together with

Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam yet he only accepted Islam much later who was this uncle his name was al-Abbas

Ibn Abdel-Muttalib you all know that Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam's lineage Muhammad Ibn Abdel-Lah Ibn Abdel-Muttalib

So, Salallahu alayhi wa sallam he was the son of Abdullah who was the son of Abdul-Muttalib

Abdul-Muttalib had married a woman called Nutella that's quite easy to remember because SubhanAllah a lot of the youngsters from amongst us like a little chocolate Nutella

SubhanAllah Allah grant us ease so he married a woman called Nutella and she gave birth to a boy whom they had called al-Abbas

So, he was al-Abbas Ibn Abdel-Muttalib and at the same time two years later his brother had a child called Muhammad but the sad part of that birth was the fact that he was born and orphaned

So, although it was the greatest thing to ever have happened in creation the birth of Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam but Abdul-Muttalib was saddened because his son had passed away unable to have seen his own son which means the grandchild

So, he brought up the son or he helped in the upbringing together with the mother Amin Bin Tewahab and what happened is they grew up together Al-Abbas Ibn Abdel-Muttalib and Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam they played together they loved each other and they grew up to a great degree together

and as they grew up we all know that they came a time when Prophethood came to Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam but why did Al-Abbas who was so close to Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam not accept that immediately although he says in his heart that I knew that the man was telling the truth and I knew him because he was a nephew but as good as a brother

Subhanallah so much so that they used to ask him or Abbas who is bigger you or Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam he used to say Muhammad is much bigger but I am just two years older in age Subhanallah

this was a beautiful way of answering who is bigger he says he is much bigger but if you want to count the years I'm two years older than him Subhanallah

Subhanallah proves that it does not mean that because you are older you are greater in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala they could be those who are younger who are far higher in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala than those who are older may we take a lesson from this

so Al-Abbas when his father passed away who was the grandfather of Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam

Kouraish handed him what was known as Sikaya to Lhaj because his father was in charge of giving water to those who come for Hajj

you know Makkah was an area where the water was scarce so because of the scarcity of water they had special people to look after those who came from outside

and make sure there is water for them and the well of Zamzam has its own story where Subhanallah Abdul Mutlib who is the grandfather of Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam
