Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. His entire household, all his companions,

may Allah bless them all, may he bless every single one of us, may he protect us from all evil,

may he grant us every form of goodness ourselves, our offspring, humanity at large.

May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala bless us all. Brothers and sisters, this evening we will be going

through the lives of two of the companions of Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

He was a man who has a unique history. When he was young, his father, or in fact before he was

born, his father, known as Amrib Nuth al-Alaba, who was living in an area or from amongst the tribe of

Bohra. He was living in an area where he had committed a crime, Subhanallah, and the crime was he

murdered someone. So this person's father happened to murder someone and had to run away. He ran

away fearing that perhaps they might get hold of me and they might punish me, penalize me and so on

and he ran away to Hadrah-Mot. Hadrah-Mot is an area in Yemen. So in Hadrah-Mot he stayed there for a

while. He married someone from Hadrah-Mot and he had a son and the son was named Al-Mikdad.

And this is the person who later became a companion of Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

Al-Mikdad, it is reported that he looked just like his father. He was very dark in complexion

and at the same time he was a person who was very hot-blooded so to speak, temperamental.

And as he grew up, he had a few disputes with some of the people in Hadrah-Mot. One of them was an

elderly man and they happened to fight with each other or he swiped him with a sword and cut

part of his leg. So Al-Mikdad, just like his father, ran away from Hadrah-Mot and where did he go?

He ran to Makkah to the Mukarrama because he knew Makkah was considered a city and it was a very

big city at the time compared to the other cities in the region. So when he went to Makkah,
