Every time we hear the word takwa, I'm sure

every one of us would like to be from amongst those who are called by that word.

Muttaqeen, those who are full of takwa. So what is meant by this term takwa?

And who are those who have takwa? How will I achieve it?

And how will a person distance himself from takwa?

To begin with, we should know that mostly if we have two things we are successful.

The first is iman. The first is to believe in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And the second is takwa.

The minute a person has takwa, they are successful inshaAllah by the will of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala tells us in the Qur'an, he says,

the most honoured from amongst you in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala are those who are the most full of takwa.

If you noticed, I haven't yet given you the meaning of the term because there are several interpretations

of this term and all of them are correct. Some of them are broader than others.

Firstly, when we hear takwa, some people say to fear Allah is takwa.

Sometimes you hear the word to be conscious of Allah is takwa. Both of them are correct.

If you have the fear of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, it is part of takwa.

And if you have the consciousness of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, it is broader than the fear of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

Because consciousness includes the fear as well as the hope.

And it includes the fact that we believe Allah is watching us and we are answerable to him
