As you have children in your home, it's not always easy to keep the marriage a high priority.

And certainly, we had six children, 15 and under at one point, and that was a lot of work.

Our marriage kind of got pushed off to the side.

And I've mentioned that we went to Hope Restored about five, six years ago because our marriage

had been pushed aside.

And we were great business partners, but the intimacy was pulverized out of the relationship

by kids.

Maybe that's you.

Well, hang on because we've got some great insights and kind of a fun

little twist here along the way. I'm John Fuller, joined by Aaron and Greg Smalley. They

lead the Focus Marriage Department. And Greg, let's go back to the early days with children

and diapers and trying to establish work. It's a draining, draining season in life.

It is.

And there's no way around that.

And so the best thing that Aaron and I did in was to try to talk through a lot of that,

you know, because you've got the sleep deprivation, the exhaustion that's, I mean,

it is what it is.

You know, figuring out now who's going to do what requires a lot of conversation, trial and error.

What we thought was the right plan turned out to be not even close to what, you know, was needed between us.

So as long as you're willing to keep talking about this stuff in a state of

you know sleep you know deprivation and exhaustion which then can create you know heightened

emotions and tensions and it's easy to get our buttons pushed and in those conversations then
