Summary

The age of virtual work has arrived - and many businesses have found a welcome niche in stay at home moms.

They want to work from home, pursue digital or virtual businesses, and they are scrolling all day on their phones, many looking for a way to make some extra income and help make ends meet in this tough economy.

One mom who is part of my Instagram community and fell into one of these schemes shares her story today. It is a cautionary tale of something sounding too good to be true... and we know how that usually goes.

Hello and welcome back to Kindled.

So today I have a conversation to bring to you that I had with a woman from my

0:28.0

Instagram community.

0:29.6

She reached out to me with her story of how she fell for a challenge, what's called

0:36.8

the Rainmaker Challenge, And she essentially went from being promised that

0:43.8

she could be an exhausted mom making $10,000 per month in an online business, that she would

0:51.2

only need a couple of hours per week to run. She went from that promise to

1:31.0

destined to be a failure and to add to that was in $20,000 of debt.

1:37.9

1:52.3

get in being promised this really big financial opportunity. But the reality is that it is the

1:59.7

very, very small minority of people who ever make it to that level.

2:04.4

And yet those are the people who are used to sell you that average stay-at-home mom the opportunity.

2:12.6

So, of course, we're talking about one particular woman's experience, but this experience is not unique. This is

2:18.3

one that millions and millions of women have experienced both from MLNs and from different challenges

2:24.4

or courses like this one, where they promise, they just really over promise and under-deliver

2:31.3

on everything. And it's, um, it's a problem. It's a problem because

2:36.1

we are all on our phones and stay at home moms are very susceptible to these types of claims
