| 1:12.7 | Segment number three. |
| 1:13.9 | Segment number two is we continue to get to know some of the candidates and we've gone through a handful of them so far as the Raiders continue on with their head coaching search. And I know a lot of us want to jump ahead and get to right to the off season where they start to put the roster together when it comes to free agency in the draft. But before any of that happens, got to find out who's going to be the next head coach, right? Obviously, Pete Carroll no longer with the organization. So who's next? We talked about it on Tuesday's show. Offensive mind guys, a young guy. Could it be a veteran coach that's been there, done that? It's got some skins on the wall on a resume to prove it. Like a Mike Tomlin who stepped down on Tuesday from the Pittsburgh Steelers. John Harbaugh, who's out there available, Kevin Stefansky, or could it be someone who's part of the new breed? Young guys offensively, young guys defensively. Well, we'll take a look at the L.A. Rams. |
| 2:17.8 | The Raiders made sure that they dipped into the Rams pool of candidates. Sean McVeigh, that tree. Anyone who coaches under him, they're a head coach in the waiting, right? That's what it seems like. So Nathan Shieldhouse, he's a guy. He's a passing game coordinator right now. He's one of the candidates that the Raiders have interviewed or I have a request for an interview. |
| 2:20.2 | Offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur, another guy, |
| 2:36.1 | and defensive coordinator, Chris Schuller. So Greg Beecham from the Rams reporter for the AP. He actually joined my radio show on Tuesday, and we had a good 15, 16 minute conversation, all things Rams, Sean McVeigh, what makes him such a really good coach, and why do so many successful coach come from his tree? |
| 2:38.3 | But I really just want to focus in on those three guys, |
| 2:40.4 | Shield House, LaFleur, and Shula. |
| 2:43.0 | So you'll hear that part of the conversation in segment number two, just to get a little bit familiar with some potential candidates |
| 2:45.8 | that the Raiders could really be focusing in on when it's all said and done here. |
| 2:49.6 | In segment number one, news and notes of the day. |
| 2:51.5 | We'll go ahead and jump right into it. And we'll start out actually talking about one of the Raiders' current coaches that is getting some more requests to interview. And that's defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham. I know that nobody's going to sit there and say that Patrick Graham was a fantastic defensive coordinator. No one's going to say that the defense was stellar this year or really any year that he's been the defensive coordinator for the Silver and Black, but he has got attention across the league. He has done the best job that he could with what he was working with. This year, it was really kind of difficult to see what was his and what was Pete Carroll's but whatever I mean he's a |
| 3:24.3 | defensive coordinator so he owns that but on Tuesday the Dolphins requested an interview with |
| 3:28.9 | Patrick Graham for their head coaching job so that's another job that he's uh you know got a request |
| 3:34.1 | in for obviously he'll go interview for that position he's a current defensive coordinator so |
| 3:39.4 | the Raiders can't block that even if they wanted to because that's obviously an upgrade from that DC spot. And remember, the commanders already interviewed him for their open defensive coordinator position. So again, it's not like he's got interview requests from every single one of the openings that are out there. And there's plenty of them. Matter of fact, there's nine currently as we speak. He doesn't have all that, but he does have, you know, the interview under his belt with the commanders for their D.C. job after they moved on from their guy. And now the Dolphins head coaching job since they've moved on from Mike McDaniel. Again, it's interviews, its opportunities, doesn't mean he's going to get it. Doesn't mean that he's out the door with the silver and black. But I think that if any of the coaches that are on the current coaching staff for the Raiders were going to be retained, I think we'd probably know it by now. Vinnie Bonsignor had asked John Spitech at his press conference last Monday, you know, what's going on with the other assistant coaches in Spitech? He did not say anything. He said he kind of rather declined on speaking on them right now, but they all know where they stand. As far as I'm concerned, they're all free to find employment elsewhere. But again, whoever they end up being the head coach will make the final decision on who he wants on his staff and who he doesn't. You know, on Tuesday, I talked about in segment number two, what I was thinking and what direction I was going as far as what I wanted the Raiders to do with their head coaching position. And I talked about a young-minded offensive guy, and I gave every reason why. I thought that that was a good example, especially and a good reason, especially since we all believe Fernando Mendoza is going to be the number one overall pick, pair that young offensive mind with the quarterback, and then you don't have to worry about, you know, losing him to another job. And I know some people would be like, hey, man, the Raiders have been so long since they've been successful. Who cares if they lose a coordinator to, you know, another organization because they've been |
| 5:20.9 | successful. At least that means that they're playing really good, something they haven't had. |
| 5:25.1 | But keep this in mind. On Tuesday, the Eagles decided that they were going to move on from |
