Hello and welcome to another episode of Radio Westeros. I'm Yoteboy and with me as always is Lady Gwynn.

Hi there. Today we're very happy to bring you this episode all about the Dornish Wars of House Targaryen.

This is essentially a follow-up to last year's episodes about Agon's conquest of Westeros,

which remained incomplete due to the failure to bring Dorn into the realm.

And the ongoing quest to unite the Principality of Dorn with the Seven Kingdoms

would take nearly two centuries, at a cost of untold violence and tens of thousands of lives. It's that effort we

chronicle today, starting with the first Dornish War, the death of Rheny's Targaryen, the years of

the dragon's wrath, and the famous Dornish letter that caused Agon to unexpectedly sign a treaty

of eternal peace with dawn. What was in that letter, and why did Agon re unexpectedly sign a treaty of eternal peace with Dawn.

What was in that letter, and why did Agon reverse course after reading it?

We'll look at all the details and suggest a few possible answers.

Then we'll trace the decades of low-level conflict that began with the second Dornish War

during the reign of Aeneas I

and continued off and on throughout the next century until Daron the first, the young dragon

embarked on his conquest of Dorn in 158 AC. We'll look at what happened, how it ended, and the

impact of the eventual peace treaty signed by Baylor I.

Finally, we'll explore the results of that treaty,

how Dawn finally came to be part of the realm,

and why that outcome led more or less directly to a conflict within House Targaryen

that would occupy them for generations, the Blackfire Rebellions.
