Radio Estros, episode 43, The Sworn Sword.

Hello and welcome to another episode of Radio Estros.

I'm Lady Winnevere and I'm back with the second installment of our series analyzing the

Tales of Dunkin Egg.

And if you caught part one, then you know that means today, I'll be diving into the sworn sword. The

sworn sword is a bit longer than the hedge night not surprising if you know the

tendency of George's tales to grow in the telling just like those of one of his inspirations

J. R.R. Tolkien did so many years ago and there's plenty to analyze from the

growing relationship between Sir Duncan and his squire to war, politics, social norms, history, and even a bit of romance.

I'll start the episode with a bit of history because this story marked the first significant introduction of the history of the Blackfire

rebellions. And following that, we'll take a look at the state of the realm and what Dunkin Egg

had been up to since we last saw them. After that it'll be a reread style recap and analysis of the story and there's a lot to say so bring a mug of tea, a skin of wine or a flag and a veil to keep you company for that segment.

I'll end the episode with a theory based on one of the characters from the Soren Sword

and look ahead at the future of Duncan Egg from both meta-textual and intra-textual viewpoint.

But here's some housekeeping to get to before we start.

In case you missed our announcement, Yook Boy and I were married at the end of last year, so 2019 will not only bring the fifth anniversary of the

podcast but a whole new era for Radio Westeros.
