We were and still are working on a double episode

on the War of the Five Kings that was promised,

but it's rather predictably become really long and complex, and so we've decided to release this episode in the meantime. So today we will be looking at

another of the most often mentioned characters not to have a POVve, and also like Rob Stark, our previous focus, one of the five kings from which the war takes its name.

And we're talking of course about Joffrey Barathian.

And what a villain Joffrey is, a character we all love to hate, and what's better than a good villain.

This episode will also mark the first time we've covered the purple wedding in

holl its splendour so stick around and see what we have to say about that.

Yeah so a quick look at the structure today we'll start by considering the

making of the monster Joffrey's youth and formative years

before the events of the book's timeline. Then we'll enter a Game of Thrones where Joffrey

the Prince becomes an irritant for the Starks and readers alike.

And with twists and turns in the drama of King's Landing, Joffrey soon becomes King and we'll be seeing how he does on the iron throne.

Then we'll set the scene for the wedding of Joffrey and Marjorie Terrell

now called the Purple Wedding by fans
