Let's talk Wolverines Hoops. Welcome to Inside Michigan Basketball. Over the next hour, we'll take you inside both the men's and women's basketball programs. Now here are your hosts, Brian Bush and Terry Mills.

We haven't had many of these types of shows this season on Inside Michigan basketball with both the men and the women coming off a loss,

but still so much to look forward to getting ready for a big week.

The men have a chance with a couple of wins to win the outright Big Ten championship.

They can lock up at least a share with a Tuesday night home victory over Minnesota,

whereas the women, they closed the regular season with a road trip to

Ohio State on Wednesday, then a Saturday home matchup against Maryland before Big Ten tournament

time. We've got the national champ Terry Mills here, and you know, T, you talk about the men

two drastically different results, the roller coaster of the season, for Michigan to go to Mackey,

get the win. That game celebrated, then a narrow one against Duke, where, yeah, I think it's fair

to say that Michigan could have played better. I'm sure Duke should have played better as well.

But the ebbs and flows of the season, so fascinating because Wednesday, everyone's on top of the

world. And Sunday, I think fans, what I gathered, there was a pretty measured approach to realizing, yes, Michigan wanted to win, that game meant a lot. But there's still plenty to build from in that experience. Yeah, well, you talk about ebbs and flows. I mean, I can see it, you know, even in your face when we're getting ready

to call the games. And you were like, yeah, this is why I chose to do this job. You know, I mean,

this is a special time. And just to see the Michigan fan base going into a hostile environment

in Mackey, where there were probably, what, maybe 10 Michigan fans, and do what Michigan was able to do.

And then you've got to really kind of turn that page.

You know, you can't really celebrate because you've got another big game against Duke

and unbelievable atmosphere there.

And, I mean, it was, as advertised, it almost felt like a prize fight, you know.

And I kind of felt like walking out of there, us walking back to the hotel, kind of felt like it really wasn't a loss. It was almost like a lesson learned. Yeah, I think it's a great way of putting it. And if you would have told me before the game that the margin would be five, you didn't tell me anything else, but the margin be five, you'd probably say, hey, the winning team feels like they're the number one team in the country, deservedly so. And the losing team would have probably felt like, hey, let's get them again. And I hope Michigan plays Duke again just because almost certainly, unless Duke or Michigan really struggle down the stretch, if these two teams play again, it's probably going to be on a Monday night in

Indianapolis for the national championship.
